PCWS is a non-governmental organization (NGO) doing research, training, consultancy, awareness raising, and policy advocacy on water supply, sanitation and hygiene (WASH).  PCWS works with partner organizations to improve the WASH situation of the poorest communities through strategies, approaches and technologies that are respectful of ecosystems and empowering to people, especially the marginalized.  Through its partners, PCWS builds the capacity of communities to construct, operate, sustain, innovate and scale-up low-cost technologies for liquid and solid waste management for the production of clean energy and healthy food.

PCWS promotes access to water and sanitation as a human right.  PCWS encourages innovative community-based researches, ideas and analysis that would benefit especially those with limited resources.  It implements projects demonstrating that solutions pertaining to WASH must provide interactions with social systems and the natural environment.  PCWS is advocating for the support and financing of efforts for up-scaling of practical technologies useful to low-income communities with limited resources.
