Showing double chambers and concrete cover for section not currently in use. One side is used until full, then held for 4-6 months while the waste composts and becomes safe to handle. During this time, the second side is used.

Another type of cover for composting chambers. Note the black metal heats up the compost which aids in pathogens die-off.
